Will SAT scores be accepted by colleges in India even after the national education policyIndian students have always aspired to continue their under graduation courses in foreign universities. The allure of education and employment opportunities abroad has always been a motivating factor. However, this fantasy has been a distant dream to financially underprivileged students. The college board of India has initiated various exams to help these students. SAT or Scholastic Assessment Test is one of the most prominent exams that aids aspirants to seek education in the United States. This scholarship program is designed to provide intelligent students to pursue their dreams with support. Two types of SAT determine their competence in high school education.

Will colleges in India accept SAT scores even after the national education policy?

An advantage of this exam is that students can take it multiple times to help them get their desired score. The board has determined the upper score limit for the tests. Students opting for the SAT have the opportunity to get a full scholarship. This is not an aptitude test and provides a consistent fighting chance to everyone, irrespective of their background. The National education policy 2020 introduced by the current Government has seen its share of controversies even at the grass-root level. However, this is expected since people and opposition parties tend to be skeptical of every new regulation. Aside, from the political dissent, educationists have expressed their feedback. The inputs have been both on the positive and the negative side bringing all related discussion to a moot point.

It is an unarguable fact that our current educational system needs a reboot. The current policy has been in place for nearly 34 years. Though futuristic in its right, it is high time to upgrade the system. India is a rapidly developing country that is striving to achieve excellence in all segments. Though we are a frontrunner in various inventions, the path is still long and wide. Our future depends on the intellectual prowess of our children and the experience of the elders. The question that lingers in the mind-set of the experts also resonates with the voice of the general population. Will this new policy enhance the future of the children? Will the regulation propel the development of the country?

New Education Policy 2020

At first, various provisions in the NEP 2020 would ensure proper education for everyone. The new curricular structure begins from age three and follows a 15 years (5 +3+3+) system. This would give the students an academic advantage to outshine at the global level. The introduction of the Institute of Eminence (IoE) would help students to specialize in their preferred subjects. The regulations have also provided for foreign universities to set up their base and select students for their advanced programs.

However, it is too immature to come to a decisive conclusion about the full implications of these rules. The educational body would face significant difficulties during the implementation phase. Since most of the rules are in the planning level, there is no forecast on how it would be perceived or adapted by the general population. However, we can all agree that the system needs change. And let’s hope that NEP 2020 would lead us to a better and enriched future.
